The Bows
The Bows – Barbara Donino, Denise LeVan, Jodi Maxner, Peggi de la Cruz, Viki Boyko, Caroline Stafford, with accompanist Nancy Sinick – specialize in close three-part vocal harmony made famous by “girl” groups such as the Andrews and McGuire Sisters. Their wide repertoire ranges from music of the 40s Big Band Swing to Broadway and pop standards.
Formerly Button & Bows, the group was formed in 1994 by Greenwich music legend Bob Button to enter the Town of Greenwich Talent Show, at which they were awarded 2nd place.
The group is well known throughout the area for their appearances in the Town of Greenwich summer park concerts with The Bob Button Big Band Orchestra, the Greenwich Arts Council’s Art to the Avenue opening night celebration, the Greenwich Library’s 100th Anniversary Celebration, Stamford Downtown Street Beat summer concerts, and performances for local community service organizations including the Greenwich Chamber of Commerce, Retired Men’s Association, Daughters of the American Revolution, Lions’ Club, the Women’s Club, Soundwaters, and senior living facilities. Their CD, Swing, recorded with the late Bob Button, features swing-era songs.
